McClelland Gallery Café

General information

No visit to Australia’s largest Sculpture Park and Gallery would be complete without pausing to reflect on your visit, or indeed prepare for it, in our cafe. With a view out over our delightful lake and selection of our sculptures you will find yourself welcomed like you are a member of our family. A sense of generosity and warmth will ensure that your visit feels like you are visiting old friends and one that will leave you planning your return. Food and art are two of the great cornerstones of human life and culture, McClelland Gallery offers a balanced approach to both so that in every aspect your visit will be memorable.

McClelland Gallery enjoys a position within reach of Melbourne CBD and the playground surrounding Port Phillip bay and we strive to bring the delights of both these regions to all that we do. From outstanding cutting edge art comes our inspiration. From the region we live in and city we border comes our desire to offer the very best in cutting edge service and food and beverage. With a view bordering on obsessive we insist on vibrant, sustainable, fresh produce, sourced locally and always inspired and inspiring. We hope and trust that you will enjoy the ride as much as we enjoy offering it to you.

Food menu

Our newly released menu offers the opportunity to share dishes with a number of people or to structure your meal as you would in a more traditional setting with entree, main course and dessert. With our seasonal approach to ingredient selection you can be assured that yours will be a meal full of flavour and freshness. Our focus when creating our food selection is to source wherever possible our ingredients from the local Mornington Peninsula region. This ensures a synergy with our local wine list and each time you visit the menu will reflect the weather outside and the time of year. Living on the cusp of Melbourne’s great food bowl ensures we have access to the freshest selection of seasonal produce all year round.

Wine list

Our new wine list is also a reflection of our position at the entry point to one of the world’s great cool maritime wine making regions. With slow ripening conditions, gentle sea breezes and a generally northerly aspect the Mornington Peninsula is a perfect environment for the ripening of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay the old world champions of the wine world. pinot Noir with depth and a restrained power and Chardonnay that is long lean and clean are the styles to look out for. the conditions also offer emerging grape stars such as Pinot Grigio and Shiraz an opportunity to shine in styles not often seen in Australian wine. All these regional wines offer wonderful food matching combinations and our menu is structured to highlight some of these matches.

Functions

Our function operation will build as the year progresses. We are currently creating a function offering that reflects our new regional focus, details of which will be available soon. Should you be planning a function as critically important as a wedding or as regular as business meetings we will offer all the facilities you need to ensure a never to be forgotten experience. As we create the foundations for these experiences we ask that you leave your details with our staff and we will be in touch as soon as these arrangements are finalised.
